Charlie and puzzles

Charlie loves puzzles. There is an app on the iPad and he is amazing at it. He is up to 32 piece puzzles and he can do them very quickly. He also loves floor puzzles. I brought this alphabet train puzzle home that I have had in my classroom and is LOVES it. When he puts a new piece on the puzzle he re-sings his Abc's to figure out the next piece :)

Another race

Today Jesse ran the earth day half marathon. This is the first race the kids have been able to watch him (I was a little bummed today, I didn't run, but I did get to watch how much fun the kids had watching him race) He came in at 1:28:30, his goal was 1:30:00 for 13 miles!! That put him in 33rd place out of 1287 runners, so that was awesome. He is right on track for qualifying for Boston (he has to run 26.2 miles in under 3:05:00). Many have asked him if he is still considering Boston after the events from the last week and his response is of course!! It is a dream of his and he is not going to let 2 selfish people ruin that for him. He officially retired his first pair of running shoes today (since he started running in November). He has two brand new pair waiting for him :) Grandmas marathon is only a little over 8 weeks away!! Go Jesse!!!

30th Place

Today Jesse and I ran the 10 mile Goldy's Run at TCF Stadium. It was cold, but fun. Jesse came in 30th place overall with a time of 1:07:40. I came in way after that at 1:43:08 which I was very happy with because my last time was 1:54:43, so over 11 minutes faster than last time. It was a really tough course. Lots of tough hills. I am confident that the next 10 mile will be even faster, since I have never ran a course with that many hills. My friend Steph also ran with us today. I love being able to catch up with her as well :)

Jesse is doing very well with running and is signed up and training for Grandma's marathon. I am so excited to watch him finish. His goal is to qualify for the Boston marathon, so he is working really really hard to accomplish that goal. I am so happy he has decided to start running again. It is great for our kids to see him working hard for a goal and am happy for them to see the importance of exercise.

Wedding Fun!!

This past weekend my friend Kimberly got married. We had so much fun and am so thankful for my mom who took the kids for the long weekend and for Jesse's cousin Molly and her husband Josh for letting Jesse and I along with our two friends crash at their house on Saturday night!!

Another snow day!!

Hopefully this is our last one. April 11th and snow does not make a person very happy: However, I am enjoying the day off. We only get two "free" snow days a year so there better not be anymore or our school year will be longer.

Of course Olivia was excited that she didn't have school but he still made her little brother play school. Tracing letters for Charlie and compound words for miss Olivia. At leader they are getting some academics in today :).
