Last Day of ECFE

Last night Charlie had his last day of ECFE.  He had lots of fun and Olivia was even able to come with us.  They had ice cream for snack.  He was sitting with all of his friends and when Olivia went to sit down there was no room for her.  She sat at another table and he immediately had to follow :)  I love when they get along so well.

Here is his first spot...he actually scooted over for her to join.
He kept saying "Olivia sit with me"

YUM!!

What a Mess!!

The last week and a half has been a bit messy at our house. The sewer backed up in our basement...YUCK!!! Service master finally came to get everything cleaned up after we had to pull carpet, trim, and the floor in the office up as well as thoroughly clean our bar because in order to fix the sewer, Jesse had to tear up the bar floor. All I can say is THANK GOODNESS for insurance. We still have a lot to do but I feel like we are making headway. Here are some pics.

Goodbye Lisa!!

I want to take minute to write about a dear friend that went home to Jesus this morning...

The first time I met Lisa, was my first year teaching Kindergarten.  She had recently been diagnosed with breast cancer and yet she was so involved and always made sure her kids needs came first.  Her daughter was in the classroom next to mine and she came in to help us build a HUGE igloo out of gallon milk jugs (Ruth also came into help with this big project as well).  Lisa was always willing to help wherever it was needed.  Since then, Lisa finished her degree in Elementary Education and did some subbing at our school and eventually became a first grade teacher.  Unfortunately due to budget cuts and the return of her cancer, Lisa no longer works at our school, but of course was there helping us assess and get things in order for the beginning of the year.

Lisa was the most thoughtful, generous, person I have ever known. Last year when I had my appendix out, her and her husband Randy were the first people here to have a meal ready for us.  She made sure we didn't need anything else. At that time she was having regular chemo treatments, and yet she would just "keep on keepin' on"(a quote from the Bruska shirts that were made during her fight).

Throughout the past several months her cancer started to take over and Lisa was no longer able to fight the fight.  About a month or so ago, we went to a prayer service for her where she so proudly stood up and sang and prayed for God to take her in his hands.  This morning, with her family surrounding her, she peacefully slept away to heaven.  Please keep her three kids and her husband in your thoughts and prayers and they go through this tough time in their life.

Love you Lisa and you will be greatly missed!!!
