Pinkalicious

A couple of weeks ago Olivia and I had a "girl" day with my sister-in-law Michelle and my niece Melanie. We had so much fun. We had lunch and went to the "Pinkalicious" play the Hopkins Children's Theater. On the way home we stopped for ice cream :)

Here are some pictures

Ready to go...

At the play...

It was a very cute play and we had a fantastic time.
Thank you Melanie and Michelle for the great day!!

Backfire!!

You know when you say things as a parent and they totally backfire on you?
Well that happened to me tonight with Olivia!!

I always tell Olivia that I want her to stop growing and that I want her to stay little forever. She is just growing up way too fast. So tonight she asked me why she has to go to bed now and why Jesse and I get to stay up late. I told her because we are big and she is little and that when you sleep you grow. I went on to say that mom and dad don't need to get any bigger so we don't need as much sleep. So, of course, our Olivia said "well mom, you know how you always tell me you don't want me to get bigger? Just let me stay up and I will stay little then."

What a little stinker; however, I do have to give her credit for thinking of that =)

Uh-Oh and so much more!!

Charlie has been a very busy boy the last couple of weeks. He is so much fun :)
He has learned so many new tricks. He has started to take steps. He isn't really walking yet, but will take 3 or 4 steps before falling to a crawl (just because he can get there so much faster that way).

He has also started talking A LOT!! He no longer has a 2-word vocabulary (it was just mama and dada for about 2 months) and he tries to repeat everything! His favorite thing to say is "Jack." He talks about Jack all day long. He really enjoys dropping everything on the floor and saying "Uh-Oh." He also has to say "Kala" every time we pull up to Karla's, our daycare providers house. His new word in the last couple of days is "Ovia" which is "Olivia." He LOVES his big sister =)

His latest trick is climbing out of the exersaucer. The other day I put him in the Exersaucer so I could run down stairs and help Olivia pick up her Barbies. He hasn't been a very big fan of the thing for the past couple of weeks, but I usually can convince him to stay in their with some noisy toys. So as I was downstairs, I was listening to him talk to himself like crazy. Assuming that he was just fine because I could hear him and I knew I had put him in there, I just kept helping Olivia pick up. After about 5 minutes, I came up stairs to NO Charlie. I was panicking and I was looking everywhere for the little turkey. Here he was playing in his bedroom. I, of course, doubted myself putting him in the thing for about 10 minutes. So I put him in it again, and sure enough within 10 seconds he was out again...What a STINKER!!! For those of you non-Facebook users, here is the video that I posted a couple of days ago. It is hilarious.

Twins Game!!

This morning Jesse called a little after 7:00 and said his boss gave him 4 tickets for the noon game today. He was very excited. He called my brother and he said that he would need to take Evan with so he arranged for him to pick up Olivia early from school. She was soooo excited. She has been begging to go to a game since the beginning of the season.
It was chilly, but Jesse said the kids did pretty well.

Great Seats...Behind Home Plate!!

Attempts at getting a good picture of the two of them:

Finally Ronn took over for a "keeper"

Olivia and Evan

Olivia loves Cotton Candy and the last game we took her to we promised her she could have some. We looked EVERYWHERE at the stadium and they were SOLD OUT!! Our friend Steve even took his electric scooter around the stadium looking for it for her, but couldn't find it. Finally she got her cotton candy!!

Olivia's favorite Player is Danny Valencia :0)

Cubbies Graduation!!

Olivia has officially completed her first year of Awanas. Tonight was her Cubbies Graduation. It was very cute. They sang a few songs which included "Going on a Bear Hunt" and "Jesus Loves Me." They also had a little graduation ceremony where she even got a hat and a little Cubbies Bear for her vest. Olivia loved Cubbies this year. She still remembers her very first bible verse: John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his only son"

Picture with her Grandmas :)

She is pretty bummed that Cubbies is over until September, but is very excited to be in Sparks next year. I do keep telling her that this is one step closer to summer vacation, which means one step closer to being home with mom for three months :)

Teeth!!

A couple of weeks ago, Charlie finally got his first two teeth. Charlie was late at getting them, but not as late as Olivia. Olivia was 11 months old when she got her first tooth. Charlie was almost 10 months!!

Thanks to my neighbor Dina, I finally have a picture where you can see them :)

Easter Fun!!

The past couple of days have been filled with lots of family time. Thursday night we went to Jesse's parents house for an egg hunt. Olivia had a blast and Charlie just wasn't sure what to think of all of the commotion.

Then on Saturday night we went to my mom's house for another egg hunt and we celebrated my nephew Holden's first birthday.
I was so happy that everyone made it...even Reed and Grandma Jo.

Finally Easter...Olivia woke up a couple of times during the night asking if I thought the Easter Bunny had come yet. Then this morning she tried telling me that when she woke up in the middle of the night she caught the Easter Bunny in the basement hiding the eggs ;). It was cute!! After our own little egg hunt, we went to church. It was very nice to be at church with both of my parents, my grandma Metzger and my brother's family. After church, we headed up to Jesse's Grandma's house for a wonderful Easter dinner and some great family time. It was a little bittersweet. Jesse's grandma will be moving to an apartment soon.
It was our last holiday at the farm.
We all had a great time and all of the Great Grandchildren were together. Olivia had tons of fun!!

Happy Easter!!
